Add a video message

Contributing is free. Open the invitation link from the organizer; you do not need to sign up or install an app.

Record a message

1. Enter the name you want the organizer to see.
2. Choose the recording option and allow camera and microphone access when prompted.
3. Record your message within the limit shown on the page—up to 30 seconds for a new gift.
4. Play it back and check the picture and sound. Choose Record Again if you want another take.
5. Choose Add to gift and keep the page open while it uploads and is checked.
6. Wait for Your message is in. That confirms your message was added.

The invitation page may also show a note about what to say, who the gift is meant for, and a short message for the person receiving it. Read who the gift is meant for before adding your message. Anyone who receives a forwarded invitation or watch link may still be able to open it.

Upload a video you already made

Choose the upload option, select your video and let FromUs check it. Review the preview, select Use this video, then Add to gift. Selecting or previewing a file alone does not submit it.

Contribute without appearing on camera

Choose Photo with a voice message on the invitation page. Pick a photo and record up to 30 seconds of your voice without showing your face. Choose Enable microphone, allow access, then select Record when you are ready. Check your photo and listen to your message before selecting Add to gift. Nothing uploads until you choose that button.

Use JPEG, PNG, or WebP photos up to 12 MiB. Your browser prepares the image and audio for the finished video. If microphone access is denied, allow it in your browser settings and try again. You can also record or upload a video instead.

Make it feel like you

Face a window or another light source, find a quieter spot, and keep the camera steady. Tell one small story or say the thing you want them to know. It does not need to sound rehearsed.

You can review your message before sending it. FromUs can warn when a file has no audio track or may appear rotated, but an audio track can still be quiet or silent. Play the preview yourself and check both picture and sound.

After sending your message, you may be offered a private confirmation link. Save it if you want to check on another device that your message was added. It works for up to seven days, but it cannot move an unfinished recording to another device. Ask the organizer if you need a message removed or replaced; sending another message does not replace the first.
